How to Filter Campaign Recipients in Vedain CRM

Vedain CRM·18-Jun-2026·5 min read

Sending a campaign to the right people dramatically improves your open and reply rates. Vedain's campaign recipient filters let you target based on status, industry, job level, location, company size, and more. Here is a complete breakdown of every filter option.

Accessing Recipient Filters

In the Campaign Builder, after selecting the Recipient Module (Leads or Contacts), click Filter Recipients to expand the filter panel. The recipient count updates live as you add filters.

Available Filters

Status

Filter by the lead/contact status. Example: send only to leads with status 'Qualified' or 'Proposal Sent' — skip New leads who are not yet ready.

Lead Source

Target leads from a specific acquisition channel. Example: send a 'Thank you for visiting our website' email to all leads with source = 'Website'.

Owner

Send campaigns for a specific team member's leads. Managers can run campaigns on behalf of their reps.

Industry

Target leads in specific industries. Example: send a healthcare-specific case study email to leads in the Healthcare industry.

Location (City / State / Country)

Target by geography. Useful for event invitations, regional promotions, or market-specific messaging.

Company Size (Number of Employees)

Filter by employee count. Ranges: 1-10, 11-50, 51-200, 201-500, 500+. Useful for targeting enterprise vs SMB segments.

Job Seniority (Auto-Detected)

Vedain automatically detects seniority level from the job title field. Levels: Founder/Owner, C-Suite (CEO/CTO/CFO), VP, Director, Manager, Individual Contributor. Filter to target only decision-makers.

Example: Send an ROI-focused email only to C-Suite and Founders; send a feature overview to Individual Contributors.

Job Function (Auto-Detected)

Auto-detected from job title: Sales, Marketing, Engineering, HR, Finance, Operations, Legal, Product, Design. Send relevant content — a marketing case study to Marketing leads, not to Finance.

Custom Fields

Any custom field you have created appears here. Filter by exact values (dropdown fields), contains (text fields), or date ranges (date fields).

Combining Filters

All filters work with AND logic: a lead must match all selected filters to be included. To send to multiple values of one filter (e.g., both Qualified AND Proposal Sent), select multiple values within the same filter — those work as OR within that filter.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is seniority and job function auto-detection?

Vedain uses keyword matching on the job title field. Common titles are detected accurately (e.g., 'CEO' → Founder/C-Suite, 'Marketing Manager' → Manager + Marketing). Non-standard or abbreviated titles may not be classified. Accuracy improves with complete job title data.

Can I target contacts by their account's industry?

Yes. The Industry filter for Contacts uses the industry field on the Contact record itself. If you populate this from the linked Account's industry, it will filter correctly.

Can I exclude specific email domains from a campaign?

Currently Vedain does not have a domain exclusion filter in the campaign builder. As a workaround, use a custom field to tag leads/contacts from those domains, then exclude by that tag.
