How to Hide or Show Fields
- Go to Settings → Field Config.
- Select the Leads tab (you can also do this for Contacts and Accounts).
- You will see a list of all available fields. Each field has two toggles: Show and Required.
- To hide a field: toggle Show off. The field will no longer appear on the lead form.
- To show a hidden field: toggle Show back on.
- Changes save automatically — no Save button needed.
- Open any lead form (Leads → New Lead or edit an existing lead) to verify the changes.
Which Fields Can Be Hidden?
You can hide most fields. The only fields that cannot be hidden are First Name and Last Name (or Full Name) as they are the minimum required to identify a lead.
Fields you might want to hide if your team doesn't use them:
- •Skype ID, Twitter URL, LinkedIn URL (if you don't use social channels)
- •Annual Revenue, Number of Employees (if irrelevant to your sales process)
- •Secondary Email, Mobile (if you only track one contact method)
- •Funnel Stage, Funnel Status (if you don't use the funnel module)
- •Lead Score (if you don't use lead scoring)
Important: Hidden Fields vs Deleted Data
Hiding a field does not delete any data. If you hide a field that already has data in it (e.g., you hide the Twitter URL field but some leads have Twitter URLs), that data is safely stored — it just won't be visible on the form. You can unhide the field at any time to see the data again.
Field Config Applies to All Users
Field Config is company-wide. When you hide a field, it is hidden for all users including Admins, Managers, and Sales Reps. If you need different field visibility per role, use Custom Roles (Settings → Team → Roles).
Frequently Asked Questions
If I hide a field, does the data in it get deleted?
No. Hiding a field only removes it from the form view. All existing data in that field is preserved in the database. Unhide the field at any time to see the data again.
Can different users see different fields?
Field Config is company-wide and applies to all users. For truly different field sets per user role, you would need custom module configurations — contact Vedain support for this use case.
Can I hide the Email field?
Yes, you can hide the Email field. However, this means users cannot add email addresses to leads through the form. Email is required for email campaigns and tracking, so only hide it if your team never uses email.
Does hiding a field affect CSV exports?
No. CSV exports include all fields with data regardless of visibility settings. Hidden fields still export if they contain data.
