Vedain CRM·18-Jun-2026·4 min read

If you have contacts in a spreadsheet, another CRM, or a LinkedIn export, you can bulk-import them into Vedain in minutes using a CSV file.

Preparing Your CSV File

Recommended columns for a contacts import:

  • First Name and Last Name (or Full Name) — required
  • Email — for email campaigns and tracking
  • Phone — for follow-up calls
  • Job Title — for filtering and personalisation
  • Company / Account Name — links to an Account record
  • Department — Sales, Marketing, Engineering, etc.
  • Owner Email — the Vedain team member to assign this contact to

Automatically Linking to Accounts

Include a Company or Account Name column in your CSV. During import, Vedain looks for an existing Account with that name. If found, the contact is linked. If not found, a new Account is created automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I import contacts and automatically link them to accounts?

Yes. Include a Company or Account Name column in your CSV. Vedain automatically links to or creates Accounts based on the company name in each row.

What if I have contacts from multiple companies in one CSV?

That is perfectly fine. Each contact can have a different company name in the Company column. Vedain creates separate Account records for each unique company name.

Can I import custom field data for contacts?

Yes. In the column mapping step, your custom fields appear in the right-hand list. Map the corresponding CSV column to the custom field name.
