What Is an Email Alias?
An alias is a secondary email address associated with your connected email account. When you send through an alias, the From address shows the alias email — but the email still goes through your connected Gmail or Outlook account.
How to Add an Alias
- Go to Settings → Email.
- Click on your connected email account to open its settings.
- Find the Aliases tab or section.
- Click Add Alias.
- Enter the alias email address (e.g., sales@yourcompany.com).
- A verification email is sent to the alias address — open it and click Confirm.
- Once verified, the alias appears in your email account settings.
Using an Alias When Sending a Campaign
When building a campaign, the From Email dropdown shows your connected account and all its verified aliases. Select the alias to send the campaign from that address.
Prerequisites
- •For Gmail: The alias must be set up in Gmail's own settings first (Gmail Settings → Accounts and Import → Send mail as). Vedain then picks it up automatically.
- •For Outlook: The alias must be added to your Microsoft account first (account.microsoft.com → Your info → Manage how you sign in). Then verify it in Vedain.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can each team member have their own sending alias?
Yes. Each team member connects their own email account and can add their own aliases in Settings → Email. Aliases are per-account, not company-wide.
Is there a limit on how many aliases per account?
No hard limit in Vedain. The practical limit is set by Gmail or Outlook — Gmail allows up to 30 aliases per account.
Do replies to an alias email come back to my main inbox?
Yes. Replies to emails sent from an alias are delivered to the main connected email account's inbox. In Gmail, they appear alongside your regular email.
