Mailbox providers decide where your email lands based on real engagement, correct authentication and low complaint and bounce rates. Vedain warms a mailbox the same way: it sends your real campaign email in small, growing daily amounts, to the people most likely to open and reply, from a domain whose SPF, DKIM and DMARC are set up correctly, to lists that have been verified first.

Why Vedain retired peer-to-peer warmup

Vedain used to run a warmup network in which connected Microsoft 365 and Outlook mailboxes sent generated emails to each other and automatically opened them, replied and moved them out of junk. On 3 September 2026 Validity launched the Heatwave blocklist, aimed at "synthetic domain warming": reputation built from fake engagement between warmup networks. It listed more than 1 million domains at launch, and Validity names Comcast, Proofpoint, Spamhaus and SURBL as using or evaluating it. Being on a blocklist can stop a domain’s email reaching inboxes, so a synthetic network now puts at risk the very domain it was meant to protect. We have switched the network off, and every mailbox that was in it has been moved to the sending ramp automatically. Do you still offer email warmup?Yes. Warmup in Vedain is now a sending ramp on your real campaign email, backed by a mailbox health score, list verification and auto-pause on bounces. What we no longer run is a peer-to-peer network of mailboxes exchanging generated emails.

Does the sending ramp work with Gmail?Yes. It works with Google Workspace and Gmail, Microsoft 365 and Outlook, and SMTP mailboxes. The old peer network only supported Microsoft mailboxes.
How does the sending ramp work?A mailbox with the ramp on starts at 10 campaign emails a day and grows by about 30% a day until it reaches the target you set (100 a day by default). While it is ramping, campaign emails go first to contacts who have opened or replied before.
My mailbox was in the old warmup network. What do I need to do?Nothing is required. Your mailbox has been moved to the sending ramp automatically and the peer emails have stopped. Before your next campaign, it is worth checking the mailbox health score on the Warmup page and verifying your list.
What does the mailbox health score check?SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX for the sending domain, the SURBL and URIBL domain blocklists, and the mailbox’s own campaign bounce rate over the last 30 days. Each problem comes with the exact fix. The checks refresh when you open the Warmup page (results are reused for up to 6 hours), and you can whenever you ask.
Can I warm up a personal Gmail or Outlook address?You can use one, and its authentication is handled by the provider. For campaigns, a mailbox on your own domain is strongly recommended, because that is the reputation you are building.
What happens if a list bounces badly?A campaign pauses itself if 8% or more of its emails bounce after at least 30 sends (counted since it was last started or resumed), and the campaign owner is notified. To avoid it, verify first with Email Verification (vedain.com/features/email-verification) or the free checker at vedain.com/free-email-verifier.
